Spoiler, you’re already doing it.
In this simple guide I want to share my recent grid work experience which was facilitated by one of the prominent ascension guides in the spiritual space. Along with sharing what I perceive grid work to be and how we can all be stewards of the Earth through conscious energy work in nature. Spoiler, you are already ‘doing’ grid work in your every day life.
Grid work was a term I had heard about in the online cosmic community and to be honest I never really understood what it was. I knew it had something to do with lay lines or ‘dragon lines’ the pathways of energy that flow within our Earth. I knew it had something to do with consciously connecting with nature as a sentient being. But I felt like I needed to be shown how to do it. Sounds strange I know. But maybe if you’ve been called to read this post you are feeling the same way I was.
My intention for saying yes to this experience was my soul desire to be more connected with our Earth. Especially with the intense energy we have navigated over the past few years and especially because I would be entering my final month of pregnancy soon after. And also because, there is a deepening that the Earth has been calling me into for quite some time. I’ve seen a future timeline of mine where my primary role is working with the Earth and her energy. This experience felt like the doorway into that timeline.
About our guide
I had heard of our guide JJ from @activationswithjj from my friend Renee who owns Yoga & Oils. A yoga and spiritual healing space and crystal shop in Te Awamutu,NZ (hear more from Renee and I with our upcoming podcast episode). Renee had been working with JJ for a few months and orchestrated this event through her studio. JJ channels many different cosmic energies which she shares quite eloquently through her podcast. She travels the world doing grid work. Side note: something to know about me is I don’t often work with mentors or guides, sounds strange considering I work as a mentor, I primarily follow my own knowing and explore through trial and error. But when I DO choose to work with others it is a very considered decision and I tend to go straight to the experts in the field.
The excursion
Let me share what I recorded as my personal debrief or journal entry from the experience with JJ, Renee, and the other women who joined us.
I love how being surrounded by a group of women I had not met and entering into a sacred experience with them feels so normal in my world.
As soon as I heard the beautiful Māori welcome from one of our guides I was in tears.
I’ve been that way for as long as I can remember. As soon as I hear a Māori haka or waiata or welcome I cannot hold back the tears. The emotion that those words carry, the frequency of that language is a heart opener and expander. And although I don’t identify as being from Māori decent, this is the language of my homeland. And I’m not just talking about Aotearoa New Zealand. I’m speaking of the land here before. The Atlantean and Lumerian lands.
We walked as a group down to the entrance of the ancient Kahikatea temple. We stood in circle, and set our intentions for entering the portal. There were tears, laughter, shoes removed, belongings tucked into the long grass, quiet conversations, light language dancing on finger tips.
The cows in the paddock next to us were so loud. They could feel our frequency arrive. As we entered the bush the singing from the cows faded away and was replaced by prolific bird song. Our avian ancestors were also present.
We walked through in silence. In presence. In awe of these lands and the gift of our bodies to receive the codes of Gaia. Crystals were laid gently on branches and in streams and twisted root systems. Light language, bird song and cows (a gift from our Venusian ancestors) echoed through the silence. We walked, and breathed, and touched and prayed, and gave and received.
I saw the roots and trunks of these ancient Kahikatea light up with luminous codes. Like the codes were written in a fluorescent green pen. (The above image is how I can best translate what I sensed) I saw connection. Each tree appeared to be standing tall as an individual but I knew that the root system under the earth was deeply connected, in a symbiotic relationship with each other. Every tree, as straight as an arrow, reaching to the sky had deeply anchored into the support of the trees around it.
Such a beautiful reflection of our sisterhood.
We gathered within the centre of the forest on a viewing platform. I sat to record a few codes that wanted to come through in that moment. Then I lifted my face to the sky and received the cool rain on my skin. Next we moved into an energy clearing and activation. As a group we made primal sounds, laughed, clapped, stamped our feet, moved our bodies. Supporting Gaia’s release. We were the bridge, the conduits of healing. I felt pain in my lower back. A subtle version of labour pain. We were there as both mothers and midwives to birth new codes.
In that space we created an opening. For me personally, it was the opening of my birth portal (I plan to record a full podcast episode on that soon.) But what I felt most strongly in that voyage was connection. Connecting soul to soul, human to human with these women and it shifted something in me.
It bought me back home to my mission, and it landed in a deeper and more authentic place. The generosity of those women was awe inspiring. How they freely shared their energy with the women walking beside them, as well as Gaia. It was truly a profound experience.
What is Grid work?
What JJ kept saying was ‘this is a remembrance.’ That it’s not about learning anything new it’s about remembering what you already know and what you’ve already practiced for lifetimes. What I believe grid work to be in its simplest form is being present in and with nature. You don’t need to go on a facilitated excursion, you don’t need to ‘do’ anything. This experience is about being. As you practice observation of nature in any form; looking at the trees out your window, visiting the ocean, picking a flower and noticing its colour, you are consciously connecting with and therefore sharing your energy with Gaia. If you bring your full presence into that moment you are naturally residing in your heart-space. Grid work is consciously sharing your love with the Earth. This love can be shared in a wide spectrum of ways.
The ways to practice
There are no right or wrong ways to practice grid work, I hope this guide so far has clearly stated that. Here are some ways I’ve already been practicing grid work in my everyday life. You may resonate with these practices, and notice that you’re already doing many of them yourself. Or it may spark some inspiration for you to strengthen your practice if that’s what is calling you.
growing a garden
Talking to the trees
Asking for permission before I pick fruit, flowers or branches from plants
Looking at the sky
Instilling a love of nature in my children
Celebrating each season
Buying locally
Reducing single use plastics
Composting
Moon gazing
Swimming in the sea
Walking in a stream
Touching trees
Caring for animals
Acknowledging the fairies and nature spirits
Producing my oracle cards on FSC (forest stewardship council) card
Making crystal and flower grids on the earth
As you can see there are an abundance of ways you are already practicing this sacred art. I hope this guide has inspired you to take ownership of your innate wisdom and magic even more. We are of the Earth and she is of us. We are designed to thrive together.
Thank you for your love and presence,
Sarah
